Because rural kids deserve world-class educational options
A volunteer powered coalition
Working to protect educational options for rural Vermont students
We are a grassroots group of concerned parents who seek to maintain Vermont’s historic school choice and town tuition program. We exist to educate and inform community members in towns that are currently served by the town tuition program about the threats posed by Act 73 and to advocate for the preservation of existing school choice options, including both public and secular independent schools in Vermont. We are not advocating for the imposition of school choice in towns that are already served by public schools, nor are we advocating for the expansion of public funding to schools that do not meet the new eligibility criteria under Act 73. We do not support public funding of religious schools. We only seek to protect the options that students in our communities have had for many years.
We started as a group of concerned parents in the Northshire region, but are looking for local organizers in other parts of the state. If you are interested in assisting with this volunteer effort, please drop us a line: parentsforvtschools@gmail.com
