Big changes are coming to Vermont’s education system - school district consolidation could result in the loss of school choice and access to many schools.
We are a grassroots coalition of parents and concerned community members who are committed to preserving existing school choice options in rural towns that do not operate public schools for some or all grades.
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that the implementation of Act 73, including school district consolidation, does not result in the loss of existing school choice options in communities where it currently exists. We are not advocating for a statewide “voucher” system or the expansion of school choice beyond areas where it currently exists. We view the longstanding town tuition / school choice program as an essential tool to provide robust educational opportunities to kids in rural Vermont. We are working to ensure that our kids continue to have access to the diverse range of public and secular independent schools that have served our communities for generations.
